How much is self-hosting?
The open-source core is free under Apache-2.0 — SQL editor (with query history, result filtering, and error navigation), dashboards, pipelines, models, telemetry logs, Brain (BYO key), and the tunnel connector, with no license keys. Pro at $1,199/year per instance adds Governance, Cluster Health, Query Insights, Schedules, Alerts, GitHub sync, SSO/OIDC, and priority support — everything, on your own hardware.
How do I buy a license?
Click Buy Pro license and you'll be redirected to Stripe Checkout — Stripe collects your email and payment there. Right after payment, your license.json arrives by email along with activation steps. Lost it? Re-send it anytime from ch-ui.com/license.
Can I try Pro before buying?
Yes — start a free 30-day trial right here (or at ch-ui.com/license), fully self-serve: enter your email and a trial license lands in your inbox instantly, no card and no sales contact needed. It unlocks every Pro module on your own instance. When the 30 days are up, buy a license to keep going; your data and configuration are untouched either way.
How does license activation work? Does it phone home?
No call-home. You receive a signed license file (license.json) by email and upload it under Settings → License in your instance — activation is fully offline. The key is verified locally with a public key embedded in the binary, so CH-UI Pro works in air-gapped environments. One license covers one running instance, with no limit on the ClickHouse users or team members who use it.
Do you charge per user?
No. The Pro license is flat per instance. Workspace access uses your ClickHouse's own users, so neither your team nor your end-users are billed as seats.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
The license is an annual subscription billed through Stripe. Go to ch-ui.com/license, enter your purchase email under Manage subscription, and we'll email you a secure Stripe billing-portal link — update payment details or cancel there. Cancel anytime and Pro keeps working until the end of the paid year; your data always stays yours.
Does CH-UI stay open source?
Yes. The core remains Apache-2.0 and always will. Pro modules are source-available under BSL and unlock with a license key.
